After 35 years as Founder and Managing Director of Intrapac Property, David Payes AM continues as Intrapac Property’s Executive Chairman.

A property industry leader, David has served the Urban Development Institute of Australia as President (VIC), Vice-President (VIC), Director (VIC), a Women in Property mentor and National Councillor. David’s achievements extend far beyond the property development industry, encompassing academia and a broad range of business interests, community service and charitable contributions.

From lecturing law and economics at Monash and Melbourne Universities earlier in his career, to co-founding several successful businesses, David is a highly regarded corporate figure, holding various board positions for major cultural institutions and corporations over the years. In recognition of his tireless and prolific public contribution to Australian life, David was recently named a Member of the Order of Australia appointee in the Queen’s Birthday 2022 Honours List.

As Executive Chairman, David remains overseeing strategy, acquisitions and financial independence in a full-time capacity, passing on the leadership torch to Max Shifman, the new Chief Executive Officer. This changing of the guard marks an exciting new chapter for the business, with the next generation of property leaders renewing a commitment to delivering timeless, innovative, world-class places where communities thrive.
